I Want To Change My OnALot.com Email Account Name

Changing your email name is easy!

You want to change your email name from you@onalot.com to newyou@onalot.com. Maybe because you get too much SPAM, got married or any other reason. Here's what to do:

1. You must call us and set up your new email name and password, and tell us your old one that you no longer want.
2. Open Outlook Express or Windows Mail (Vista)
3. Click on Tools
4. Click on Accounts
5. Click on the Mail Tab, then on Properties on the right
6. Click on the General tab and change the email address to your new one
7. Click on the Servers tab and change the account name to your new one. Be sure it has the @onalot.com at the end.
8. Change your password to the new one
9. Click on Apply
10. Click on OK
11. Click on Close.

You're done!

Helpful Settings

Now that your new email name is set up, here are some settings that will make it perform better for you.

1. Click on Tools
2. Click on Options
3. At the top, click on General
4. Put a check in the “When starting, go directly to my ‘Inbox’ folder”
5. At the top, click on Maintenance
6. Put a check in the “Empty message in the ‘Deleted Items’ folder on exit”
7. Click Apply
8. Click OK
   

Testing Your New Email Account

The fastest way to check your email account(s) is to send yourself a test message.

1. Click on Create Mail
2. Enter your email address in the To field
3. Enter Test as the Subject
4. Enter anything you like in the body of the message
5. Click Send
6. After it’s sent, wait 30 seconds and then click on the Send / Receive button.
7. The email you just sent should come back to you.
