Setting Up A New Email For First Time Use Of Microsoft Outlook
This section sets up email on either a new computer or for the very first time you are using Microsoft Outlook
This guide applies for new OnALot.com email accounts, or, for OnALot hosted Website email accounts.
Follow these instructions to set up your new email account.
- Open Microsoft Outlook
- If it asks to make this your default email program, click Yes or OK
Note: Sometimes Microsoft Outlook will skip steps 3 and 4, and go directly to step 5. That's OK. Enter your name as you want others to see it and click OK. Say Yes when it wants to go to your new account name.
- Click on Tools
- Click on Identities, then E-mail Accounts...
- Select Add a new e-mail account, then click the Next button.

- Select POP3
Connect to a POP3 e-mail server to download
your e-mail
then click the Next button.

- Enter your name as you'd like it displayed. Then enter your new Onalot email name as: yourname@onalot.com (or yourname@yourdomain.com). Enter the Server information as shown (read the notes under the image for more information). Your Logon User Name will be your complete email address (e.g., youremail@onalot.com). Enter your password and check the box to Remember password. Then click on the More Settings ... button.

NOTE: For our Paden customers only, use smtp.valornet.com instead of smtp.onalot.com
NOTE: If you host your own website with us, use pop3.yourdomain.com and smtp.yourdomain.com
- Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server then click the Advanced tab.

- Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) from Port 25 to Port 2501 [see above].
- Then click OK, NEXT and FINISH.
You are done setting up your email account. If you have more than one account, go back up to step 1 again.
Testing Your New Email Account
The fastest way to check your email account(s) is to send yourself a test message.
- Click on New Mail
Message or Ctrl+N.
- Enter your email address in the To field
- Enter Test as the Subject
- Enter anything you like in the body of the message
- Click Send
- After it’s sent, wait 30 seconds and then click on the Send / Receive button.
- The email you just sent should come back to you.
You’re done. If you have any problems, just give us a call!
