Dedicated High Speed Link

OnALot.com uses very high speed data links between many of our systems, most of which run at 36 to 54 megabits. These are tied to High Speed Data Lines that we purchase from our suppliers. These data lines run at the following speeds:

Because there is significant amount of "extra" bandwidth available in our system, we can offer a few 3.0 or 6.0 megabit data streams. These data streams are for a single user - you - with no one else on them. Thus, you get all the bandwidth that the stream can give you to do with pretty much as you wish.

How Does It Work

OnALot.com delivers a very high speed link to our transmitting tower near you. Some of that bandwidth is used for our normal customer base. The remaining bandwidth can go unused, or, sold to dedicated single user customers. Since we already provide the bulk of the equipment needed to get that speed to the tower, the cost to you is lessened. You do need equipment that our "normal" customers don't get, and this can be expensive, and falls into one of two categories.

1. If we can "piggyback" you onto our existing system, the equipment costs $400.00, much of which is for the equipment mounted at your home or business.
2. If we need to add an additiional antenna and radio system on our transmitting tower just for you, as well as the equipment at your place, the cost is $600.00. Also, some systems do not have links, with the internet sourced right at that tower. This scenario then applies to you as we would have to build out a separate link just for you.

The difference in the two scenarios above is, if you are in the direct path of our link to the tower, we can usually piggyback you onto our existing system. If you are considerably to the side of that path, we then have to add a second antenna and radio on the tower that points at you.

Fees

You must sign a 1 year contract, and you must pay for this service using a credit or debit card. Should you use a debit card, and it fails, there is a $50 service fee, so be sure to have your card properly funded.

The $400.00 equipment fee includes a high speed data router, radio cards, antennas, cabling and installation. Antenna mounts are extra, if required. This fee also assumes we can "piggyback" you on an existing link. If we need to build out a separate link on a tower just for you, there is an additional $200 fee. The equipment required to build these links is expensive, and is a one-time cost.

Please note: The download and upload speeds shown above are what is available at the front end of the high speed data router. After it goes through the electronics, radio links, and then your equipment, the actual speeds are usually 15 - 30% less.

IP Addresses

You can choose to have 2 public IP addresses, or, up to 240 private IP addresses. Public IP addresses are useful for VPN tunnels, or if you have your own router and network. Or we can set you up to automatically get up to 240 private, non-public or "hidden" IP addresses. We can explain the differences and advantages of both to you.

Who Else Is On Your Link?

No one else. You are the only user, you get all the available bandwidth. Also, there are almost NO restrictions on what you can do with this service. You can use it for VPN tunnels, Streaming Stock Market quotes from multiple sources, the ultimate Game system, music downloads, run your own website (except a porn site), etc. The only restriction is that you cannot resell this service and / or run your own ISP - leave that to OnALot.com!
