Testing Your Email Settings

When in doubt, test it out!

We sometimes get calls saying that the customer has not received any email in a few days, and is concerned that it isn't working. The simplest way to test your email is to send yourself an email!

Just put your own email address in the To line, and Test in the subject and message areas.

After you hit Send, you should wait at least 5 minutes to see if your own email comes back when you hit Send/Receive.

My Email Didn't Come Back

This does happen sometimes. Some websites that people visit mess with their email programs. We don't know why they would do this, but it does happen, and we suspect that those sites have harvested your contact list and are sending spam to everyone on that list.

Please go back to our Complete Guide and go over your settings on your email program. You'll probably find that something got changed, and all you'll need to do is make the corrections, then send yourself another test email.
